Washing winter away.
Walk around the house. Do the windows need repairing? Are there cracks in the foundation, the facade? Check the roof, the driveway, the rooms. While inside, look for water stains or leaks. Assess the damage and take care of any problems. Then you can start giving everything a thorough cleaning.
Now, bring the outside back into action.
Switch any outside faucets back on. Rake up any remaining leaves, reseed your lawn and lay down mulch. Click to find out how to properly spring clean the garden. Don’t forget to include the gutters in your cleaning routine. When clogged, those could cause water to leak or infiltrate your roof.
It’s also a good time for a new paint job; find out if you want do touch-ups or a fresh coat. Feel like you don’t need it? Close all windows and doors and give the house a wash. Grit can build-up over time and end up hurting paint and masonry.
